Who can obtain a burn permit?

Only residents living in approved areas can obtain a permit. Permits are conditional and may be revoked at any time.

You may register online using this website, visit us in person at 392 Lyndoch St in Corunna or call the office at 519 481 0111 between 830-430.

What can I burn?

Please only burn clean dry wood or agricultural waste as approved in the Environmental Act

Do I need a permit?

If you are burning a pile larger than 80 cm (32 inches) x 80cm (32 inches) then yes you require an approved permit. If you are having a bonfire that is less then 80cm (32 inches) x 80cm (32 inches) and meets the requirements in the bylaw or a barbecue then a permit is not required.

What do I do when I want to burn once I have my permit?

You check the current weather and environmental conditions to ensure it is safe to burn. You can also check the burn permit website to see if burning is permitted. You then call 226-778-2776 and indicate that you are starting the burn.
